Digitales Evaluation
Posted: Thursday, April 15, 2010 by AnitaKathleen inThe story that I will be evaluating is called Oreo the Attack Bunny by Katherine Ciesemier. In my opinion, this video was more advanced than many of the other videos made. It was especially more advanced for the age that the kid seemed. In this video, the aspect that was mostly achieved for the Asia society was Skilled for Success in a Global Environment. The author of Oreo the Attack Bunny is obviously literate in the 21st century. They have used digital media and technology to make new knowledge and learn more. The other aspects that weren't exactly achieved were Ready for College, Knowledge Required in the Global Era, and Connected to the World. Since this kid was in elementary school, I wouldn't have expected them to achieve these skills. They do not have a high school diploma, and probably don't have the experience of achieving expertise by researching, understanding, and developing new knowledge about a world culture or an internationally relevant issue. They cannot be Ready for College. Since they are young, they cannot possibly have the Knowledge Required in the Global Era. They have not yet learned the major events of world history, scientific concepts, or the conventions of mathematics. They cannot yet use mathematics as a way to make sense of the world, explore possible solutions to global problems, or interpret contemporary world issues. She has not achieved the skill of Knowledge Required in the Global Era. Lastly, this student cannot be on their own. They cannot handle the responsibilities of global citizenship or notice different world issues from different points of view. They are simply too young and don't understand these things yet. They are not Connected to the World.
